Full RSS feed enabled

By request from several people I switched my RSS feed to showing my posts in full length. I'm not using feeds very much myself, so I'd be happy about feedback whether this is working well, and whether you prefer it this way.

The disadvantage of having a full RSS feed enabled is that some of my readers will turn invisible now. I'm not quite sure how these work, but I don't think my Sitemeter counter is detecting people who read my posts only through the reader. The advantage (or one more disadvantage if you see it from the employers point of view) is that now people can read my posts at work even if their firewall blocks the blogspot domain. So in spite of the Sitemeter count I might end up with more real readers, just less counted readers.
Comments:
Overall numbers might drop, but there is usually an interesting comment thread to be found on the page, so I hit the link anyway.

I think you'll be fine - and thanks for setting up a full rss feed.

feed burner is good for tracking rss feeds

If you are concerned about not knowing how many people are reading, you should use Feedburner for your feeds. They will collect stats of how many people are currently subscribed to your feeds and whatnot. It's a really nice tool

So far, E3 has been a dud. Nothing really big has been announced, mmorpg wise.

Warhammer Online is officially pushed back to 2008, and it wouldn't surprise me to see Tabula Rasa also pushed back.

I think Turbine is making a huge mistake releasing Age of Conan in Q4. Why go head to head with WoW's second expansion, which is almost certainly slated for Dec or Jan. Best to avoid that beast altogether.

Of course, if that happened, it would mean that Tabula Rasa, Warhammer Online, and Age of Conan would all be squished together during the Spring/Summer of 2008.

Yes, if you have full feed anyone can eventually read your posts using a RSS reader (like http://www.google.com/reader/view/ )

The trick to see how many are subscribed is to use FeedBurner (that recently had been acquired by google).

Here is a post (in a google related blog) about FeedBurner service and how to configure it with blogger.

argh, forgot a link in previous post....

post related to feedburner can be found at: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2007/07/redirect-your-blogger-feed-to.html

Works great, thanks a lot!

Thanks Tobold. I much prefer a full feed. No need to switch back and forward with the feed reader then. Cheers.

thanks for adding a full feed. :) (the requested feedback :-D)

Here's one for you guys. It appears that Hellgate London and Age of Conan both have a targeted release date of October 30th.

In a game like Age of Conan, getting a good head start would be very important, but Hellgate London has fantastic promise.

So which do you buy first?

I was just about to say - Feedburner can give you lots of good stats on your Feed if you serve through it. Blogger will eventually get all their stuff linked through it I bet (since they're both owned by google anyway). Ooh, google analytics too.

Thanks Tobold - I use the RSS Reader built-in to Thunderbird and it's nice to be able to read the posts in there.
