Post number 2,000

This is my two-thousandth post on this blog, and the blog isn't even five years old, which makes an average of over one post per day.

Having said that, I must say that I'll probably post a bit less in the coming months. I'm a bit burned out by World of Warcraft, and Age of Conan didn't exactly cure that. The one game I'm very much excited about, I can't write about, or at least can only comment on publicly available information. But if I'm lacking ideas on what to write about, I'll ask you guys. I think I'll keep up the open Sunday thread every week for readers to propose subjects, and I'll take more time to respond to the comments there. And gaming enthusiasm is something that comes and goes, I'm sure there will be more for me to write about in the future.
Comments:
I'm betting that you're really into WAR and are afraid you'll blow the NDA. Since no other game really interest you, it's a no brainer to scale back and enjoy what you secretly predict will end up being your second favorite MMO.

Oh, and be careful that you don't play so much WAR that you burn out before it even goes live )

BTW, what do you think of the announced WAR collector's edition?

Congratulations, Tobold!

Thanks for making us MMO players consider viewpoints that we normally wouldn't have and for providing us with insight over the years. I'll be hapy to come here as long as you're happy to blog ;)

Congratulations on post #2000. One request: I really enjoy reading my "Tobold's daily" with my coffee in the morning. If possible, keep on writing. I appreciate that you have burned out of WOW / AoC, but what about the other games / business news which you liked to write about in the past? Widen your view, your readers (myself for sure) would like to see other games through your eyes. When was the last time you reported about some games you played on the PSP? Do you plan to buy a console? What do you think is the development in the business going forward? Any comments or mind games on the development in the gaming industry?

You see, there is soo much write about but WOW & AoC & WAR.

Thanks for writing, I truly enjoyed reading you blog for about the last 2 years!

Benn following for 3 years always been entertained.

However I do not share your enthusiam for WAR having also got into the beta. Maybe its just the current phase race pairing which doesnt interest me but so far I am very less than impressed with what ive seen. Heres hoping it gets better.

Keep up the good work.

Keep up the good work Tobold! It's been quite a journey from our days at Grimwell Online. It's good to see you are still passionate about MMO's. You may want to consider getting some real forums for the community that follows you.

All the best!

Gratz on 2,000 posts. I started reading last year but have been through the archives and probably read all them by now :)

Thanks for all the work, Tobold. I've really enjoyed reading the blog and am sure I will keep enjoying it!

Hope to see you in WAR when it eventually goes live.

Grats Tobold!

That's a crazy pace Tobold, hats off!

Hopefully you won't slow down too much though, your thoughts and ideas really drive a good amount of discussion around the blogosphere.

Congratulations on reaching another milestone Tobold. I actually started reading your blog before I had ever played an MMORPG so I can blame you somewhat for my own flirtation with the genre.

I was getting a bit bored as well - but re-rolling a totally new class and getting into a new guild made quite a lot of difference.

WoW burns you out when you feel "the grind" - farming/questing/etc...solo.

Having previously played dps and healing, I'm now MT'ing kara, and it's refreshingly different!

Or, as some friends have done, roll a rogue! (on a pvp server..:)

don't slow down too much or I'll get REALLY bored at work, (j/k) grats toby

Grats man. Keep em coming :D
Just think, one day you will be OVER 9000!!!!!

The one game I'm very much excited about, I can't write about, or at least can only comment on publicly available information.

No amount of shameless Mythic promotion thus far about WAR has made me want to play the game more than that single comment.

If YOU are excited about it, then that gives ME reason to be excited about it. I respect your opinion and trust your ability to wade through all the hype.

And lest I forget...congrats! 2000 posts is a big benchmark. Particularly when you consider the average length of your entries and the number of comments each one provokes.

Where is the book deal?

gratz on the 2K, hope you don;t get the millenium bug ;)

but perhaps a nice topic to write about. why is AoC more succesful than LOTRO/Vanguard, yet LOTRo was smoother and i think Vanguard gives more depth.
is it really because of the blood, gore, violence and a hint of sex? or just excellent timing?
