Since you're always talking about MTG style combat I was wondering if you had seen much on Mytheon. Its in closed beta now and will be FTP but its looking like there might be advantages to those who pay :(

Thanks for the link. Looks interesting, I'll check it out when it goes into open beta.
I do not think that a Free2Play game in which paying gives no advantages whatsoever is commercially viable. The trick is to make paying give an advantage without being game breaking. See Magic the Gathering, where paying money *did* give you an advantage, but didn't guarantee you winning every game.

I wrote a lot this week about expansion packs and the different ways companies go about doing them.
Expansion Packs
-Leveling the Playing Field
-Features vs Content
-Expansion Packs vs Patches
-Two Case Studies
So, this week I would like your opinion on expansion packs. Do you like more features added or more content? Do you like consistent patches that update the world or do you like large expansion packs full of content? What do you think of raiding when expansion packs level the playing field on their release?
Really any thoughts on expansion packs that you have I would like to know. After writing about one topic for a week I want someone else's view on it.
