World of Warcraft on Tyra Banks Show

World of Warcraft "addiction" is just one of these non-issues that is sensationalist enough for daytime TV talk-shows, without being serious enough to actually worry the spectator. Good that over here in Europe we don't get the Tyra Banks Show, because they just had an incredibly bad episode on WoW addiction.

Excellent review and opinion piece written on that at Taking the Mickey. I couldn't have said it better, and so I don't. :)
Comments:
The day I start taking anything Tyra Banks has to say on life in general as a valid opinion is the day I have effectively retired from the sane world.

I enjoyed that they completely abandoned the option of the wife considering participating in her husband/fiance's hobby. God forbid she show interest in her husband. It's only a tragedy when the husband doesn't show interest in his wife.

I wonder if she's considered that the problem is she's just not an interesting person. I feel sorry for their baby, though. (Being the father of a daughter myself)

First of all, I didn't even know this show still aired here in the US.

Second, this show is only focused on their demographic which is 20 to 40 something women. So things will naturally be skewed to their viewpoint.

And third, if they really wanted to stop the guy from playing, they should have deleted his characters, not destroyed the game. As a commenter stated in the Taking the Mickey site, you don't need the disks to play the game.

My daughter an I were recently on the tyra show, and my 15 yr old son is also addicted to WoW. He has a bulletin on his guild's web page announcing his sister's moment on the show (sexy little girls, airing sometime in march 07)
what's interesting is that the tyra producers fed us lines and set up situations to film for dramatic effect.
